While standing in front of it, three Headcrabs (one after the other) should try to attack you through the cover, kill them, then break the vent cover and climb through. Jump onto the worktop, then onto the table in front of the First-Aid Unit, then onto the other worktop. It is important not to touch the water as it is electrified. Jump through the broken window onto a table in a flooded room (see picture). Then get the security guard to follow you (if you wish for protection) back to the red double doors earlier. Round the next corner is some health and ammo, but watch out for the Headcrab that comes down from above. Pick up the shotgun on the box to your right and put it away - you don't need it yet - then walk over near the security guard and quickly kill the Zombie before it kills the security guard.

Turn left twice and walk up to the wooden door, then stand back and watch the Zombie destroy the stuff around it then the door - kill it when it's done. Go all the way along the passage and break the window to get through. The red double doors will open from this side so just walk through them. This turns off the lights, and allows you to pass the electrified wire earlier. Watch for Barnacles breaking holes in the ceiling and find a door that leads to a switch. At the end, jump out and kill the barnacle before it kills the scientist. Crawl to the vent, and break it open with your crowbar, then turn right and crawl up the vent.
